Between November 1 and 19, Li Auto had 25,400 insurance registrations in China, Nio had 9,400, Xpeng had 10,400, Tesla had 39,300 and BYD had 129,700 units.

Insurance registrations in China for the major electric vehicle (EV) makers generally rose last week.

For the week of November 13 to November 19, Li Auto (NASDAQ: LI) had weekly sales of 10,000 units, the company said on Weibo today.

As before, Li Auto didn’t explain the basis for calculating that weekly volume, but apparently, they were insurance registrations. The company suspended sharing those numbers in May, but has since resumed sharing them.

Li Auto’s insurance registrations last week were unchanged from the previous week. The company’s three models currently on sale are the Li L7, Li L8 and Li L9, all of which are extended-range electric vehicles (EREVs), essentially plug-in hybrids.

The Li L7 had 4,000 insurance registrations last week, and the Li L8 and Li L9 both had 3,000, the company said. This is exactly the same as the previous week’s figures.

Between November 1 and November 19, insurance registrations for Li Auto vehicles were 25,400, according to the company.

Li Auto unveiled its first battery electric vehicle (BEV) model, the Li Mega, on the first day of the Guangzhou auto show on November 17 and began pre-sales of the model. The Li Mega will be priced at less than RMB 600,000 yuan ($84,100), it said.

The company guided for fourth-quarter vehicle deliveries to be between 125,000 and 128,000 units when it announced its third-quarter results on November 9.

Considering it delivered 40,422 vehicles in October, the guidance implied Li Auto expects to deliver a total of 84,578 to 87,578 vehicles in November and December.

Nio (NYSE: NIO) vehicles had 3,700 insurance registrations in China last week, up 27.59 percent from 2,900 the week before, according to figures shared by Li Auto.

Between November 1 and November 19, a total of 9,400 Nio vehicles were registered for insurance in China.

Nio founder, chairman, and CEO William Li outlined plans for organizational optimization in an internal letter on November 3 that will reduce positions by about 10 percent, with an emphasis on improving execution efficiency.

Earlier today, the company announced that it has entered into a partnership with Chongqing Changan Automobile on battery swap services, involving the establishment of a battery standard for battery swap, the construction and sharing of a battery swap network, and the research and development of battery swap-enabled models.

Xpeng (NYSE: XPEV) vehicles registered 4,200 insurance registrations in China last week, up 7.69 percent from 3,900 in the previous week.

Between November 1 and November 19, a total of 10,400 Xpeng vehicles were registered for insurance in China.

Xpeng debuted the seven-seat X9 MPV (Multi-Purpose Vehicle) on the first day of the Guangzhou auto show on November 17 and started pre-sales with a starting price of RMB 388,000. The model’s official launch will be in December and deliveries will begin in January.

Xpeng guided for fourth-quarter deliveries of between 59,500 and 63,500 units in its third-quarter earnings report announced on November 15.

Considering it delivered 20,002 vehicles in October, the guidance means Xpeng expects to deliver a total of 39,498 to 43,498 vehicles in November and December.

Insurance registrations for Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) vehicles in China totaled 16,300 last week, up 28.35 percent from 12,700 in the previous week.

Between November 1 and November 19, Tesla vehicles had 39,300 insurance registrations in China.

Earlier today, Tesla raised the starting price of the Model Y Long Rang in China by RMB 2,000, the fourth price increase in the past month and the third this month.

On October 27, the Model Y Performance’s starting price in China was raised by RMB 14,000, the start of this latest round of price increases.

On November 9, the Model 3 Long Range received a small price increase of RMB 1,500 in China, and the Model Y Long Range received a RMB 2,500 price increase.

On November 14, the Model 3 base version increased in price by RMB 1,500, and the Model Y base version increased in price by RMB 2,500.

Insurance registrations for BYD (OTCMKTS: BYDDY) vehicles in China totaled 52,900 last week, up 7.96 percent from 49,000 in the previous week.

Between November 1 and November 19, a total of 129,700 BYD vehicles were registered for insurance in China.

BYD gave the Sea Lion 07 its debut at the Guangzhou auto show, where its premium Yangwang brand unveiled a concept car and a supercar platform.

Yesterday, BYD’s personalized sub-brand Fang Cheng Bao announced that its first model, the Bao 5, will begin first deliveries nationwide on November 24.

BYD’s premium brand Denza was at 1,800 units last week, unchanged from the previous week.

Neta was at 2,900 units last week, up 45 percent from 2,000 the week before.

Zeekr was at 2,400 units last week, up 20 percent from 2,000 the week before.

Leapmotor was at 4,500 units last week, up 12.5 percent from 4,000 the week before.

    ($1 = RMB 7.1332)
