    BYD Oct sales breakdown: Qin 71,248 units, Seal 58,046

    • The BYD Qin family models sold 71,248 units in October, remaining BYD’s best-selling lineup.
    • The Seal family sold 58,046 units, surpassing the Sealion to become BYD’s second-highest selling lineup.

    BYD’s (HKG: 1211) Qin family continued to contribute the most sales last month, while the Seal family replaced the Sealion as the second-highest seller.

    The Qin family sold 71,248 units in October, remaining BYD’s top-selling model, according to data released today.

    This represents a 17.72 percent year-on-year decrease but a 5.43 percent increase compared to September.

    BYD’s Seal family sold 58,046 units in October, ranking as the second-highest selling BYD model. This represents a 3.08 percent year-on-year decrease but a 13.02 percent increase compared to September.

    BYD’s Sealion family sold 53,988 units in October, marking a 180.72 percent year-on-year increase but a 0.14 percent decrease compared to September.

    The Sealion family ranked BYD’s third-highest selling model in October. In September, the Sealion family surpassed the Seal family for the first time to become BYD’s second-highest selling model.

    The Song family models sold 51,186 units in October, a 55.47 percent year-on-year decrease but a 21.36 percent increase compared to September.

    The Song family includes the Dynasty series models Song L EV, Song L DM-i, Song Pro DM-i, and the Ocean series models Song Plus EV, Song Plus DM-i.

    BYD’s Dynasty series Song models sold 28,349 units in October, down 55.23 percent year-on-year but up 17.68 percent month-on-month.

    Sales of the Ocean series Song models were 22,837 units in October, down 55.76 percent year-on-year but up 26.25 percent month-on-month.

    BYD is discontinuing the Song Plus, with the SUV to be replaced by the Sealion 06.

    BYD’s Yuan family sold 48,902 units in October, down 12.73 percent year-on-year but up 7.97 percent month-on-month.

    BYD Seagull sold 36,604 units in October, down 32.32 percent year-on-year but up 5.83 percent month-on-month.

    BYD Dolphin sold 26,766 units in October, up 23.29 percent year-on-year and up 22.29 percent month-on-month.

    BYD Tang sold 14,460 units in October, down 3.62 percent year-on-year but up 6.17 percent month-on-month.

    BYD Han sold 13,710 units in October, down 54.51 percent year-on-year but up 57.77 percent from September.

    BYD Chaser 05 sold 10,059 units in October, down 55.40 percent year-on-year but up 8.75 percent from September.

    BYD Xia MPV (multi-purpose vehicle) sold 1,990 units in October, down 41.19 percent from September.

    BYD e2 sold 403 units in October, up 1.00 percent year-on-year and up 217.32 percent month-on-month.

    BYD brand passenger vehicles, including the Dynasty and Ocean series, collectively sold 387,362 units in October, down 19.44 percent year-on-year but up 10.04 percent month-on-month.

    The Dynasty series sold 178,659 units in October, down 28.85 percent year-on-year but up 9.84 percent month-on-month.

    The Ocean series sold 208,703 units in October, down 9.16 percent year-on-year but up 10.21 percent month-on-month.

    BYD’s premium Denza brand sold 10,135 units in October, down 5.99 percent year-on-year and down 18.31 percent month-on-month.

    Denza’s October sales comprised 7,062 units of the D9 MPV, 1,574 units of the N9, 1,071 units of the N8L, 339 units of the Z9 series, and 89 units of the N7.

    BYD sells 441,706 cars in Oct, highest this year despite drop year-on-year

    BYD’s personalized sub-brand Fang Cheng Bao sold 31,052 vehicles in October, marking a 415.30 percent year-on-year increase and a 28.73 percent rise from September.

    This comprised 6,513 Tai 3 units, 20,024 Tai 7 units, 3,510 Bao 5 units, and 1,005 Bao 8 units.

    BYD’s ultra-luxury sub-brand Yangwang sold 654 vehicles in October, marking a 131.91 percent year-on-year increase but a 13.72 percent decline from September.

    The Yangwang U8 series — including the U8 and U8L — sold 455 units in October, while the U9 electric supercar sold 2 units and the U7 sedan sold 197 units.
