BYD (OTCMKTS: BYDDY) vehicles equipped with its God’s Eye smart driving system have surpassed cumulative sales of 2 million units as of the end of October, the Chinese new energy vehicle (NEV) maker announced today.
In October, BYD models equipped with assisted driving systems — including God’s Eye and Huawei‘s Qiankun ADS — sold 316,759 units, according to the company.
These vehicles accounted for 72.5 percent of BYD’s October passenger NEV sales of 436,856 units, according to CnEVPost calculations.
Currently, BYD vehicles equipped with smart driving systems generate over 130 million kilometers of assisted driving data daily, the company said.
BYD announced at an event on February 10 this year that it named its smart driving system God’s Eye, which includes different branches.
The top-tier God’s Eye A system employs the DiPilot 600 solution utilizing three LiDARs, primarily for its ultra-luxury sub-brand Yangwang.
The God’s Eye B system’s smart driving solution is DiPilot 300 and utilizes one or two LiDAR units. It primarily serves select BYD premium models, as well as the Denza and Fang Cheng Bao brands.
The God’s Eye C system’s smart driving solution is the DiPilot 100 and employs a camera-based visual solution without LiDAR. It is designed for BYD’s affordable models.
Beyond the God’s Eye systems, the Fang Cheng Bao brand incorporates Huawei’s Qiankun ADS smart driving solution in select models.
The Bao 8 off-road SUV (sport utility vehicle), launched in November 2024, marks BYD Group’s first model equipped with Huawei’s Qiankun ADS.
Last month, Fang Cheng Bao rolled out the long-range version of the Bao 5 SUV, featuring the Qiankun ADS 4 smart driving system in its two highest-priced variants.
The Racco is BYD’s fifth model in Japan, targeting a popular segment in the country.
