A young woman who says she shopped for a Toyota Highlander in Colorado Springs has people talking about what Toyota’s Gold Certification really means and whether you can really trust any car dealerships at all. Anna (authentically.anna) starts the video by posing a question many consumers can relate to: “So why is car shopping just an inherently shady business, even when you’re doing it through a reputable dealer?” In this case, the reputable dealer was Toyota—a company that regularly ranks towards the top of consumer satisfaction surveys and prominent industry lists like the one published by Consumer Reports. From Unwanted…

To the eagle-eyed, the new Lexus Sports Concept might look familiar. And I don’t mean to those who’ve pored over the many spy photos and renderings of both the upcoming road and racing versions. This new car—which we and others have been calling the LFR—owes a lot to the LC and LFA, sure, but also the Electrified Sports concept from 2021. But this new car will have gas power. So what happened to the EV? The Lexus Electrified Sport debuted in December 2021, when Toyota unveiled a number of EV concepts. Its long-hood, short-deck proportions scream front-engine rear-drive sports car,…
Data from Recurrent shows that EV drivers use just a small fraction of their EV’s EPA range. On average, EV drivers use 12.6% of their car’s range, the firm found. It means that switching to an EV may be easier and cheaper than most people think. I don’t want to tell anybody how to live their lives. But sometimes, the data is hard to ignore. Even as consumers demand electric cars that can go 250, 300 or even 400 miles between charging sessions, research shows that they can usually make do with far less. Recurrent, a firm that tracks range…

And they can come in handy if you, like these content creators, just bought your own EV test track and make it a habit to drive electric cars until they conk out. In a video out this week, Out of Spec’s Kyle…
