You Can Still Get $6,500 Off A Rivian Lease

    • Rivian is offering a credit of up to $6,500 when leasing a new R1S or R1T.
    • Not all vehicles are eligible for the discount, though, with the most notable absentee being the quad-motor version of the two EVs.
    • Besides the lease rebate, Rivian is also slashing $2,000 off the price of its All-Terrain package.

The $7,500 federal tax credit for new electric cars is dead, but there are still some good deals to be had, as several automakers are coming up with ways to entice potential customers.

After Ford, General Motors and Hyundai, it’s Rivian’s turn to come up with something that could land it some additional buyers, albeit just by the end of this month. The American EV startup is offering a rebate of up to $6,500 for leases on certain models, but only if the customers take delivery of their new vehicles by October 31.

The biggest rebate of $6,500 applies to the 2025 R1S and R1T in three specific configurations: the tri-motor, the dual-motor with the Max battery pack and the Performance Upgrade, and the dual-motor with the Large battery and the Performance Upgrade. In other words, Rivian is trying to get rid of its inventory, but it’s worth noting that neither the entry-level Dual version with the Standard battery pack nor the top-spec Quad variant is eligible for any of these discounts.

That said, buyers can get $6,000 off the lease price of a 2026 R1S or R1T with the tri-motor configuration, while the 2026 R1S and R1T dual-motor with the Max battery and Performance Upgrade are eligible for a $5,000 lease bonus.

What’s more, Rivian is slashing $2,000 off the price of its All-Terrain Package if the customer takes delivery of a new 2025 R1S or R1T by October 31. The All-Terrain package is a paid optional extra that has a list price between $3,700 and $5,700. It comes with all-terrain tires, a spare tire, a reinforced underbody shield and extra driving modes.

To reiterate, these offers are only available for leases, not cash purchases, but it was the same story when the federal tax credit was still around. Due to their high price tags, the Rivian R1S and R1T were only eligible through leasing.

The most affordable model eligible for Rivian’s rebates is the Rivian R1T Dual with the Large battery and Performance Upgrade, which retails for $82,990 excluding the destination charge. With the $6,500 rebate factored in, the price effectively drops to $76,490, but that’s without taking into account the usual leasing fees.
