Leapmotor (HKG: 9863) has rolled out the updated T03 compact electric vehicle (EV), eliminating its previous lowest-priced variant and allowing for a higher starting price.

The Chinese new energy vehicle (NEV) maker, backed by Stellantis NV (NYSE: STLA), today launched the updated T03 in China, offering two variants with starting prices of RMB 59,900 ($8,270) and RMB 69,900, respectively.

Both variants are powered by lithium iron phosphate battery packs with pack capacities of 31.9 kWh and 41.3 kWh, and CLTC ranges of 310 kilometers and 403 kilometers, respectively.

As a comparison, the 2024 T03, which was launched in March last year, was offered in three versions with starting prices of RMB 49,900, RMB 59,900 and RMB 69,900, and CLTC ranges of 200 kilometers, 310 kilometers and 403 kilometers, respectively.

The Leapmotor T03 is an A0-class 4-seat battery electric vehicle (BEV) with a length, width and height of 3,620 mm, 1,652 mm and 1,605 mm respectively, and a wheelbase of 2,400 mm.

The updated T03 is a single-motor front-drive model and the two variants have peak motor power of 55 kW and 80 kW respectively.

The less expensive variant can accelerate from 0 to 50 kilometers per hour in 5 seconds, the other in 4.1 seconds. The model has a top speed of 100 kilometers per hour.

Leapmotor is also offering limited-time offers to customers who purchase the updated T03 before February 28, including a RMB 6,000 reduction in the final payment, a financing interest subsidy of up to RMB 2,000, and a home charger worth RMB 2,680.

These offers, combined with a national trade-in subsidy of up to RMB 20,000, will allow customers to save up to RMB 30,680, Leapmotor said.

Additionally, earlier today, Leapmotor announced that it has introduced AI models from Chinese AI firm DeepSeek to its cockpit system, resulting in a better experience, but only available for the more expensive C-series models.

Leapmotor currently sells the T03, C01, C10, C11, and C16 in China, with all but the T03 available in both BEV and extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) variants.

The company delivered 25,170 vehicles in January, down 40.8percent from 42,517 in December while up 105.02 percent from 12,277 in the same month last year, according to data released by the company earlier this month.

At the end of January, Leapmotor had delivered 624,718 units since its inception, data monitored by CnEVPost showed.

Leapmotor aims to deliver 500,000 vehicles for the full year 2025, it previously said. For the full year 2024, it delivered 293,724 vehicles, a 103.76 percent increase from 2023.
