Rivian is laying off 10% of its salaried workforce, the EV startup announced on Wednesday as it reported fourth-quarter and full-year earnings. It’s the company’s second round of layoffs in the past year.  The news comes amid a broader slowdown in the EV industry. The upcoming Rivian R2 EV, which will be unveiled on March 7, will be eligible for the full $7,500 tax credit, CEO RJ Scaringe said during an interview with Forbes. Hyundai’s Genesis luxury brand is diluting a plan to go all-electric, according to a recent report from the Korean Economic Daily. In its 2021 “blueprints for electrification,” Genesis laid out that all new vehicles for the brand from 2025 on would be either battery electric or hydrogen fuel cell—on the way to all-EV by 2030.
