BlueB, the 2017 Chevy Bolt my wife and I bought in June, has served us well this summer, taking us on numerous vacations and trips to reconnect with friends. We put about 3000 miles on the car and used a ChargePoint Level 2 charger only once. The rest of the time, we relied on a simple wall outlet, which is what is known to EV drivers as Level 1 charging. Based on the overseas-market Hilux, the prototype was developed by Toyota Motor Manufacturing U.K. and a handful of partner companies, with U.K. government funding. The Hilux was chosen because it has a reputation for durability and reliability that Toyota wanted to apply to fuel-cell powertrains, according to a company press release. Tesla recently significantly changed the Model S and Model X offer in the United States, cutting prices of the cars by 15-19 percent. Let’s start with the recently introduced software-limited Model S/Model X Standard Range, which disappeared from the lineup within two weeks. As we understand, the SR versions were kind of an experiment to test the market to see whether customers would be interested in ordering such cars starting at an MSRP of $82,990 (Model S) and $88,490 (Model X). It seems that the experiment failed expectations and did not improve sales. Therefore, Tesla had to lower prices of the…
