If Ron DeSantis was to be elected US President, he would s-l-l-o-o-w-w-w down the transition to electric vehicles (EVs). He’d repeal federal tax credits and subsidies in the Inflation Reduction Act related to EVs and their infrastructure. His shapeshifting is remarkable. DeSantis is brazen enough to state, “There’s also no conflict in saying that if people want to buy those vehicles, by all means, they can buy the vehicles. They now have more infrastructure in Florida to do it.” He fails to mention that…

This DC fast charging station tells EV drivers when renewable energy is at its peak in the grid – and thus when charging prices are cheapest. The “Better Energy Charge” station in Sønderborg, Denmark, is owned by renewable energy company Better Energy. (It sits next to the company’s R&D solar park.) What makes this charging station unique is its dynamic pricing model. It differs from traditional fixed pricing schemes because it incentivizes EV drivers with lower charging prices when renewable energy is at its peak on the grid. The charging price, which is available the day before, follows the Danish…

Karma Automotive has recently undergone numerous structural changes. From installing a new president to redirecting assets towards a new lineup of high-end vehicles, in more ways than one. the Irvine-based automaker is escaping its rather sui generis history. In 2020, Karma Automotive was keen on manufacturing a new line of products under the DeLorean insignia. However, before the product could undergo any further development, members of Karma’s executive team left to pursue the project on their own. The team created a new company called DeLorean Motors Reimagined, and it debuted the Alpha5 concept, a striking modernization of John DeLorean’s 1980s…

EV sales will accelerate rapidly over the next few years, topping two-thirds of global car sales by 2030, the Rocky Mountain Institute (RMI) predicts. In research presented ahead of Climate Week NYC, analysts predict that EV sales will increase at least sixfold by 2030 to a market share of 62% to 86% of new car sales. In China, the world’s largest new car market, RMI predicts that EVs could make up 90% of new vehicle sales by the end of the decade. RMI highlights several factors supporting explosive EV sales growth, including acceleration of EV sales in “late-adopting” countries with…
Jaguar announced that it has signed an agreement with Tesla to gain access to Tesla’s extensive Supercharging network in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Additionally, the company officially revealed that its next-generation electric models, which will be launched in 2025, will incorporate the Tesla-developed North American Charging Standard (NACS) charging connector. In other words, the new models will be able to Supercharge without the need for an adapter. Jaguar did not forget about its current customers, who are driving the Jaguar I-Pace. The plan is to supply NACS adapters from Tesla for the I-Pace drivers, once available. We guess…
