Lobbyists for the Detroit Three automakers claim a proposal for stricter federal fuel economy standards would set the automakers up for billions of dollars in fines, according to a Reuters report. During the third quarter of 2023, Audi of America sold 59,535 cars in the United States (up 21 percent year-over-year). Year-to-date sales amounted to 167,880, which is 26 percent more than a year ago. All-electric car sales increased even faster. The 2024 Genesis GV60 gets a number of updates for its sophomore model year, including a new rear-wheel-drive model that boasts more range and a lower price than the existing all-wheel-drive versions. Hyundai has announced that it will adopt Tesla’s North American Charging Standard (NACS) for EVs in the U.S. and Canada.  The change applies to all-new and refreshed Hyundai EVs, starting in the fourth quarter of 2024, Hyundai Motor North America explained in a Thursday press release, with Canada set to follow in the first half of 2025.
