Last week, the world of politics was treated to what many referred to a “clown show” as ideological purists who identify with the inappropriately named Freedom Caucus threatened to hold their breath until they turned blue in the face if they didn’t get everything they wanted. What a bunch of reactive two-year-olds! Today, progressives are wringing their hands and saying they have been stabbed in the back by Joe Biden because of his decision to continue building a wall along the southern border of…

The USA has effectively locked out Chinese batteries from its domestic market, but what if components like LFP cathodes are made in Morocco, in a factory financed by a Chinese–Korean partnership? Sounds complicated, but it might just work, as Morocco has a free trade agreement with the US. It is also very convenient for exports to the European Union — just “across the ditch.” As well as a free trade agreement with…
Can the RS e-tron GT keep up with Tesla’s Model S Plaid? Audi is hoping so. The automaker is offering up to $20,000 off its high-performance e-tron GT as it looks to stay in the race. The 93 kWh lithium-ion battery provides…
We Americans don’t hear much from Daihatsu these days, but the Japanese brand hasn’t lost its talent for producing microcars, vans and trucks we secretly want. The major difference is that Daihatsu’s going electric at the upcoming Japan Mobility Show in a few weeks. Three of them are utilitarian offerings, but the other is a high-riding, open-roof machine that seems built for cruising. In case you don’t remember the 1980s or came into existence after that decade, Daihatsu is a subsidiary of Toyota that focuses on compact models, particularly Japan’s kei class of small vehicles. They share some tech. Earlier this year, Toyota, Suzuki,…
Tesla is rumored to start initial customer deliveries of the Cybertruck this month, and while it’s anyone’s guess whether that will actually happen, there are signs that something big is cooking at Gigafactory Texas. Namely, what does it mean when we see so many Cybertruck front and rear castings just sitting around? Drone operator Joe Tegtmeyer lifted the drone above the site today, and he was surprised to see a plethora of Cybertruck castings placed directly on the concrete platform right outside the plant. As you can see from the photos shared by Tegtmeyer on his X (formerly Twitter) page, there’s probably a…
