Plug-in electric car sales in the United States significantly increased in 2023, reaching a new record volume and market share. According to Argonne National Laboratory’s report, in December some 141,055 rechargeable cars were sold (including 100,928 all-electric and 40,127 plug-in hybrids), which is over 9.8% of the total light-duty vehicle sales. The year-over-year growth amounted to 42%. Honda has confirmed that the 2025 Civic Hybrid will be much more than a niche model. It plans to make the hybrid version 40% of total U.S. Civic sales.  In U.S. spec, the 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid arrives in summer 2024 and will include a 2.0-liter inline-4 engine, running on an efficiency-focused Atkinson cycle. Volvo wants half of its sales to come from electric vehicles by next year and its ultimate goal is to become an EV-only automaker by 2030. It’s an ambitious plan, which seems hard to achieve seeing how some analysts and even rival automakers are predicting hard days for the growth of electric cars. The 2024 Hyundai Elantra Hybrid gets a price hike to go along with its refreshed exterior and interior. Hyundai released pricing information for the 2024 Elantra Hybrid earlier this month, showing a starting price of $26,250 for the base Blue grade before destination. That’s $1,700 more than the equivalent 2023 model. Including the mandatory destination charge of $1,150, that brings the total price for a 2024 Hyundai Elantra Hybrid Blue to $27,400.
