In many parts of the northern hemisphere, now’s the best time to hit the ski slopes for an exhilarating time. However, as it would turn out, the ability to go skiing is very much dependent on the weather, as well as the condition of the snow at any given time. Now, what if I told you that you didn’t actually need snow in order to Ski? I’m sure you’d say I was crazy, but this innovation from a company called Skwheel just might prove you wrong. The Skwheel One, dubbed as the “World’s First Electric Ski,” is a portmanteau of…
BMW is taking a page out of Tesla’s playbook by experimenting with artificially intelligent human-like robots at one of its car plants. Figure, a California startup developing said humanoids, announced a deal with BMW on Thursday to “deploy general purpose robots in automotive manufacturing environments.” Of course, robotics in car manufacturing isn’t anything new. Car companies have steadily automated the way vehicles are built over the years. But the machines currently in operation are programmed to do one thing over and over—like move a door panel from here to there or weld this to that. Figure’s robots, on the other…
A Tesla Cybertruck range test has resulted in only 103 miles (166 km) of range, but it was performed in the worst conditions possible. As we reported earlier this week, the first independent tests of the Cybertrucks are starting to come in, and people seem to be particularly interested in the towing range of the new electric pickup truck. In one of the first tests, we saw the Cybertruck get about 160 miles of range towing roughly 6,000 lbs in decent conditions. Now, we get a much tougher independent test. Youtuber JerryRigEverything tested the Cybertruck range while towing 11,000 lbs,…

This number includes electric cars sold globally and a small, but undisclosed number of electric buses. Get Fully Charged VinFast in the U.S. In the United States, VinFast first introduced the VF 8 model and currently is preparing to launch the three-seat VF 9 model. A few additional cars are in the pipeline. However, despite the improving quarterly results, the annual sales are below a target of 40,000. In…

We’ve all seen the news, the Reddit posts, and the TikTok/Instagram videos, right? We’re talking about the seemingly endless lines of electric vehicles trying to get a bit of juice from a DC fast charger during the cold spell that engulfed Chicago and other parts of the United States this week. And while the TV segments that showed dozens of “stranded Teslas” might have been dressed in a bit of sensationalism, it’s undeniable that people had to endure the cold while trying to wrap their heads around the fact that their EVs wouldn’t accept a charge. Get Fully Charged How…
Last week at CES in Las Vegas, Honda provided a first look at future EV models planned for 2026 with the Saloon and Space-Hub concepts. Both are envisioned for its 0 Series (Zero Series) platform. At least some of these models will be U.S.-made, and they’ll arrive in the U.S. first—before Japan, China, and Europe—the automaker made clear. Honda also said they’ll be connected yet fun-to-drive, offer a not-yet-detailed Motion Management System for ride and handling, emphasize efficiency, and have lightweight, energy-dense battery packs. Those batteries, to be used in later versions of the platform, will be able to charge…
What do you do if you really wanted to ride a motorcycle, but for whatever reason, simply couldn’t? Well, you could get an e-bike, especially one of those punchy e-bikes that sort of look like motorcycles. Indeed, moto-inspired e-bikes like those of Super73 have been around for quite some time now, and it looks like they’re getting more and more popular. Take, for example, the new Lil’Buddy Edge from German e-bike manufacturer Ruff Cycles. This charming little e-bike is both playful and stylish in that it’s inspired by the street scene as evidenced by its vibrant colors and graffiti-inspired motif.…
