BYD officially launched the Fang Cheng Bao brand on August 16, 2023. The brand currently offers the Bao series models Bao 5 and Bao 8 off-road SUVs, as well as the Tai series model Tai 3 compact family SUV.
Tai 7 is expected to target a broader family user base with a larger size than Tai 3, a market that is currently one of the key battlegrounds for major Chinese automakers.
Tai 3 is the production version of the Super 3 concept car unveiled by Fang Cheng Bao last year and is the brand’s third model.
The production version of the Super 3concept car was previously named Bao 3 and entered the regulatory filing directory of China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) in June 2024.
In December 2024, Fang Cheng Bao submitted a new regulatory filing for the model and renamed it Tai 3.
On December 10, 2024, Fang Cheng Bao unveiled its new Tai series product line, becoming its second major product line following the Bao series.
On April 17, Tai 3 was officially launched with a starting price of RMB 133,800, making it the most affordable model in Fang Cheng Bao’s lineup.
From June 2 to 8, Tai 3 became the weekly sales champion among China’s A-segment pure electric SUVs, as announced by Fang Cheng Bao earlier today.
As of June 4, cumulative deliveries of Tai 3 exceeded 10,000 units, according to Fang Cheng Bao.
