China saw solid growth in new energy vehicle (NEV) retail sales during the first week of June.
From June 1 to 8, China’s passenger NEV retail sales totaled 202,000 units, up 40 percent year-on-year and up 4 percent month-on-month, according to data released today by the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA).
Year-to-date, China’s cumulative passenger NEV retail sales reached 4.559 million units, up 34 percent year-on-year.
Wholesale sales of passenger NEVs in China from June 1 to 8 totaled 166,000 units, up 5 percent year-on-year but down 6 percent month-on-month, according to the CPCA.
Cumulative wholesale sales of passenger NEVs in China this year have reached 5.373 million units, up 39 percent year-on-year.
From June 1 to 8, China’s total retail sales of all passenger vehicles reached 343,000 units, up 19 percent year-on-year but down 12 percent from the same period last month.
So far this year, China’s cumulative retail sales of all passenger vehicles have reached 9.159 million units, up 10 percent year-on-year.
This means that the penetration rate of NEVs in retail sales was 58.8 percent from June 1 to 8, and 49.78 percent year-to-date.
During the first week of June, June 1-8, the average daily retail sales volume of passenger vehicles in China was 42,835 units.
From June 1 to 8, China’s total wholesale sales of passenger vehicles reached 311,000 units, up 10 percent year-on-year but down 2 percent compared to the same period last month.
During the same period, the average daily wholesale sales of passenger vehicles in China were 38,836 units.
Year-to-date, China’s passenger vehicle wholesale sales reached 11.1 million units, up 12 percent year-on-year.
Nio Inc, which includes the Nio, Onvo, and Firefly brands, saw 4,330 insurance registrations last week, a decrease of 19.63 percent from the previous week.
